“In a few days the stock of raw material in the factories will be exhausted and no more feed can be produced in Catalonia.” This is the cry for help from ASFAC, the Catalan Association of Compound Food Manufacturers, together with ASPROVAC, FAC (Catalan Poultry Federation), FECIC (Carns and Meat Industries Business Federation), Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Catalonia, PORCAT (Associció Catalan of Producers of Porcí) and Qualimac.
The pickets located in the ports of Tarragona and Barcelona, where a good part of the essential raw materials to be able to manufacture feed are found, are preventing feed manufacturers from accessing raw materials, which is going to have a “direct effect on livestock that, above all, it must be fed every day, endangering its well-being and causing a major public health problem” says Revista Cárnica.
