The “Animal Welfare Commitment” seal promoted by PROVACUNO achieved excellence in 2021 by positioning itself as one of the most rigorous references and with a certified scheme. Now, a year later, it achieves a new milestone by obtaining the recognition of the skins as an accreditable scheme by the National Accreditation Entity -ENAC-, the highest Spanish authority in the matter, giving a boost and dimension to the certification in cattle of meat.
This scope, requested by the leather supply sector that distributes its products to textile, leather goods or even automotive industries, closes the circle of beef and veal products in relation to Animal Welfare.
The PAWS Beef Animal Welfare Reference was created in order to have an objective assessment of the influence that the conditions and management of a farm have on the welfare of the animals and its close relationship with their quality of life.
With almost 300 farms already certified in the PAWS scheme, the Spanish beef sector has a complete, rigorous, measurable and repeatable Animal Welfare benchmark, which, together with its recognition as an accredited scheme by ENAC, makes it a unique in the world with these characteristics in the sector.
