Provacuno has been present at the SIAL Canada 2022 fair, the main Canadian agri-food event, which took place from April 20 to 22 in Montreal. A fair that brings together more than 600 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and has had an attendance of 25,000 visitors. Provacuno’s participation has been completed with the presence of five of the most important producers, who have extensive interests in this country.
Canada has become one of the main export destinations for Spanish beef outside the EU, reaching figures close to 5,400 tons in 2021 (approximately 30% more than what was exported in 2020).
During the fair, the visitor was informed about the characteristics of the product (tenderness, juiciness, low fat content, delicate flavour,…) as well as the Spanish production model, which includes very strict measures on traceability, animal welfare, respect for environment, safety and quality. Likewise, it has been highlighted that this production model prevents the use of any growth promoter, antibiotics or hormones during production, unlike the possibilities offered by other non-European producers.
All these qualities have been appreciated in the Provacuno space, where continuous tastings of different recipes have been offered, by the hand of one of the most renowned chefs with a Michelin star, JuanLu Fernández.
It has been highlighted that this production model prevents the use of any growth promoters, antibiotics or hormones during production, unlike the possibilities offered by other non-European producers.
The promotional action of Provacuno, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, concluded with the holding of a meeting of buyers and the Canadian press with companies from the Spanish sector, in B2B meetings.
