The Cabárceno Nature Park will offer its visitors sheep and geese herding demonstrations from October until the end of the year in the field attached to the Environment Classroom and the area known as La Granja. With an approximate duration of 40 minutes, they will take place at 1:00 p.m. every weekend starting this Sunday, October 3 and during the last quarter of the year, including long weekends and holidays.
These are didactic demonstrations in which shepherd dogs will herd both geese and sheep of the Carranzana breed, the native of Cantabria, while the attendees are explained the characteristics of the animals and activity, including the maneuvers that the dogs perform to manage an effective herd, a common ancestral task in the livestock context and, in particular, in Cantabria.
