#RealidadGanadera, comunicando hechos sobre la ganadería española

Hoy ha tenido lugar la presentación virtual de la campaña #RealidadGanadera, comunicando hechos sobre la ganadería española, a la que han asistido más de 200 personas. La iniciativa aúna organizaciones relacionadas con el sector ganadero, con el objetivo de informar sobre el modelo de producción ganadero español y poner en valor su contribución para afrontar los retos globales, ofreciendo otra perspectiva, desmintiendo mitos y aportando evidencias sólidas al debate actual sobre la ganadería.

Del 18 al 24 de noviembre se ha celebrado la Semana Mundial de Concienciación sobre el Uso de los Antibióticos, con el objetivo de aumentar la concienciación mundial sobre la resistencia a los antibióticos y fomentar las mejores prácticas entre el público en general, los trabajadores de la salud y los responsables de la formulación de políticas para evitar que la resistencia a los antibióticos siga apareciendo y propagándose.

Planas says EU decision to impose tariffs on US is “a step in the right direction”

Anafric se suma a la campanya europea contra l’ús indegut de les denominacions càrnies en productes “que no provenen de la carn”

Esto no es un bistec" es la nueva campaña que han iniciado seis organizaciones europeas, encabezadas por la UECBV, AVEC CLITRAVI, Copa Cogeca EFFAB, y la Confederación Internacional de Carniceros a través de la cual quieren dejar constancia  el uso de las denominaciones tradicionales de productos cárnicos y lácteos por parte de nuevos productos veganos o sin producción cárnica.  Las asociaciones representantes del sector animal en Europa exponen que con la participación del creciente número de empresas multinacionales en el mercado vegano , “ha habido en los últimos años un empuje para que denominaciones como “filete”, “hamburguesa”, “salchicha”, a imitaciones de productos lácteos y carne de origen vegetal”.

The interprofessionals INTEROVIC, INTERPORC and PROVACUNO collaborate with MAPA in the international promotion of meat products

El MAPA (Ministerio de Agricultura Pesca y Alimentación) han acordado la renovación del convenio de colaboración con INTEROVIC, INTERPORC y PROVACUNO para la promoción internacional de los productos cárnicos españoles de ovino, caprino, porcino de capa blanca y vacuno de carne, en terceros países mediante la participación conjunta en determinadas ferias internacionales durante los años 2020 y 2021. Todas estas acciones están sometidas a la evolución de la pandemia por el coronavirus. Anafric informará detenidamente sobre todas las iniciativas en su comunicado semanal de las interprofesionales.

Active packaging aims to improve food safety, preserve the quality of the packaged food and extend its shelf life. Depending on the mechanisms of deterioration of the food to be packaged, different active packaging strategies can be used. In the specific case of meat products, antimicrobial active packaging is one of the invocation lines that are being explored the most, its objective being to prevent or slow down the development of microorganisms in order to increase shelf life and guarantee safety food.

The meat sector leads exports in the first half of 2020 in Catalonia

The figures show part of the incidence of the pandemic produced by COVID-19, declared on March 11, 2020 by the WHO. This had the first visible effects on exports from the data for April, where the growing trend began to slow down compared to 2019. On the other hand, in May foreign trade was below the results of the same month of the year 2019. However, the global turnover for the first half of 2020 (€ 5,420.43 million) is higher than that of the same half of 2019 (€ 4,964.70 million), favored by the good figures for June 2020.

Since 2005, the climate footprint of a kilo of Danish pork from Danish Crown has been reduced by 25%. That message will be clear on the packaging, making it easier for consumers to make a more climate-friendly decision when standing at the counter in more than 90% of Danish grocery stores.

Beef production falls by 5% during the first 5 months of 2020 in the EU

During the first five months of the year, livestock prices in the EU and the UK had generally been on a downward trajectory (particularly between March and May), probably reflecting changes in supply and demand caused by the coronavirus. Since May, prices have been largely recovering, possibly with the easing of lockdown measures and improving demand for food services. A lower level of imports and production may also have contributed. To this is added that production fell by 5% (2.7 million tons of beef), than in the same period of 2019.
