The Regulatory Council of the PGI Cordero de Extremadura ‘Corderex’ and EA Group, S.C. They have donated 200 kilos of certified meat from “Cordero de Extremadura” to the Red Cross headquarters in Malaga and Cordoba. A solidarity action organized by the Spanish Sheep and Goat Meat Interprofessional (Interovic), to bring certified lamb meat to those most in need during these Christmas holidays, and in which several companies in the sector have participated.
This initiative is part of the “Más cerca es mejor” project, the aim of which is to promote the consumption of suckling, lamb and goat meat of national origin, especially on traditional dates. “With the situation that we are going through this year due to the health and economic crisis, it is essential to support the primary sector, bet on consuming quality products of national origin, and thereby also contribute to avoiding the depopulation of the most disadvantaged rural areas.
