Galicia announces a line of aid of €12 million for livestock farms affected by the invasion of Ukraine

The Ministry of Rural Affairs of Galicia has called aid valued at 11.8 million euros for farms affected by the consequences of the invasion in Ukraine. The communication in the BOG was made on July 22 and it is a direct assignment of an exceptional adaptation aid to compensate for the economic difficulties derived from the war in Ukraine in certain agricultural sectors. The purpose of these grants is to support livestock farms that carry out any of the activities in favor of the environment.

Natural or legal persons who own beef, sheep, goat, poultry or rabbit farms that meet the requirements established in Royal Decree 428/2022, of June 7, may be beneficiaries of the aid.

According to the publication in the BOG, the eligible limits per beneficiary person are:

a) Beef farms: up to 125 suckler cows.
b) Cattle feedlots: up to 520 fattening calves.
c) Sheep or goat farms: up to 800 sheep or goats.
d) Poultry farms: from 251 places.
e) Rabbit farms: from 50 places.

The maximum unit amounts will be €60 per suckler cow, €12 per calf and €5 for a sheep or goat.
