Grupo Empresarial Costa has acquired Roler, a historic leading company in the production of fresh meat products. Jorge Costa, CEO of the group, explains that “the integration of Roler increases our current offer of products with its wide assortment in the range of fresh products. It is an important step that encourages us to continue growing, since it is one of the most cutting-edge and innovative companies in our sector. This movement allows us to reinforce our commitment to be closer to the final consumer ”.
What does this purchase mean:
- Roler, with plants in Extremadura and Catalonia, adds 500 employees to Grupo Empresarial Costa, which is consolidated as one of the largest meat groups in Spain.
- Costa is consolidated as one of the largest meat groups in Spain, with 4,500 employees and an aggregate turnover forecast of 1,750 million euros for the year 2021.
Sustainability values
Roler is also aligned with the sustainability values of the Costa Food Group and works to reduce plastic in packaging and to comply with and respect current animal welfare standards: “This aspect,” emphasizes Jorge Costa, reinforces our ability to bring to the consumer products certified with the AENOR Animal Welfare seal. At Costa Food Group we bet two years ago to be the first national white pig meat producer to certify our 850 farms and our entire production process.
