The Interprofesional del Porcino de Capa Blanca (INTERPORC) is working together with the international organization GLOBALG.A.P. in the definition of an integrity system for the IAWS certification (INTERPORC Animal Welfare Spain). The objective is to strengthen the rigor, trust and credibility of the seal before consumers, the operators that adhere voluntarily and the certifiers that participate in its control.
INTERPORC is a member of GLOBALG.A.P. since 2020, which has allowed this opportunity to develop this integrity program with which the interprofessional will continue to expand the transparency of the pig sector, as well as increasing the scope and benefits of the certification system of the technical regulation of animal welfare and biosafety IAWS.
Alberto Herranz, director of INTERPORC, highlights that “in this way, control is reinforced to ensure that all certification bodies carry out their audits in accordance with the IAWS guidelines and procedures, verifying that they are applied to all operators in a consistent manner. and with the same criteria and quality standards”.
