It has just been approved: The CAP guarantees that Spanish farmers and ranchers can receive 7.2 billion euros in 2021 and 2022, in each of these years

Regulation (EU) 2020/2220 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of December 23, 2020, sets out the transitional measures for aid from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) and that will be in force for the next two years. This rule ensures a stable framework, by allowing the continuity of these support for the next two years in accordance with the same rules of the 2014-2020 period, until the entry into force of the new CAP on January 1, 2023, with the application of national strategic plans.

 

Its maximum percentage of co-financing will be 100%, aid for investments in physical assets may reach 75%, the maximum aid for young farmers will be 100,000 euros and up to 4% may be allocated to technical assistance at the initiative of the countries.

 

Spanish farmers and ranchers may submit, until April 30, the single application for direct aids and measures for areas and animals of the rural development programs of the CAP, thus contributing to the objectives of the EU Green Pact , digital transition and resilience.

Among the requirements, the same global environmental contribution of each rural development program must be maintained; allocate at least 37% of those funds to animal welfare measures, the Leader program or environmental operations; and dedicate at least 55% to investments, farm development, basic services and cooperation.
