Life Carbon Farming, the sector’s commitment to the environment

The ‘Green Deal’ political strategy sets out how to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. At the heart of the ‘Green Deal’ is the ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy, which sets out the lines of action to achieve the goal. Life Carbon Farming is part of this strategy, a green project, approved in 2020 by the European Commission, which clearly responds to European policies. Six European countries participate in this initiative. In Spain, ‘Life Carbon Farming’ is coordinated by ASOPROVAC and has the support of Global Factor, Neiker Tecnalia, COVAP, Lorra Koop, SERIDA, AGACAL, LACTIBER, GESTRUM, ASOPROVAC CyL, AINTA, and ASOPROVAC Catalonia, in addition to 138 farms beef and milk.

The project, which has a total budget of €6.6 million and an execution period of six years, aims to accelerate the transition to a sustainable food system by including verified emission reduction techniques.
