This makes it a real public health problem. “Lack of iron is the most common cause of anemia. It’s iron deficiency anemia.

Iron is an essential metal for cellular metabolism involved in energy production and oxygen transport, therefore its deficiency leads to a series of alterations in vital functions that lead to anemia ”.

Which is the treatment?

The article, of which we make a summary, advises “to increase the intake of foods rich in iron such as liver, dried legumes, meats and fish, some nuts, dark green leafy vegetables, some shellfish (clams, mussels)”.
