National Rescue Plan: They demand direct aid for the hospitality sector

Together with the Hospitality Industry (FIAB, AECOC and Hospitality of Spain) they confirm that the support measures for the hospitality industry approved by the Council of Ministers are far from being the comprehensive rescue plan that the sector has been demanding for months, which the Government had announced and which is essential for the viability of a strategic sector for the national economy. They insist that the only thing that can save the future of the sector is a true national rescue plan with direct aid to the sector, in the style of those that countries such as France, Italy or Germany have approved.

The food and beverage industry has reduced its sales to the HORECA channel between 50 and 60% compared to last year and some of our sectors allocate close to 80% of their sales to bars and restaurants ”.

According to data from the Hospitality Industry of Spain, in the absence of a comprehensive rescue plan that hoteliers and the organizations that represent them have been claiming, 40% of the sector’s business fabric could be destroyed.
