Organic meat production has risen by 50% in Spain since 2015

The MAPA data on organic production, referring to 2019, show that organic meat already accounts for 49.5% of production in Spain. This is how Eurocarne sums it up in a story that Anafric echoes. The number of meat establishments that produce organic products, the number also grew and stood at 540, 15.14% more than in 2018 and almost 49.5% more than in 2015.

The total production of certified organic meat in 2019 reached 41,270 t, for more than 7 million t of production in total, and grew by 15.2% over the 2018 data.

The MAPA points out that the purchase of organic meats represents 15% of the total shopping basket of organic food.
