Aid for the private storage of beef, goat and sheep meat is now available

In response to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the paralysis of the productive sectors, as a result of the declaration of the state of alarm that has forced the confinement of the population and which has resulted in a decrease in the demand for certain products for beef, sheep and goat meat, the Commission has published Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/595 of 30 April 2020 granting aid for the private storage of beef, sheep and goat and fixing the amount of aid in advance. To guarantee a harmonized application, it is necessary to set minimum criteria so that the actions of the paying agencies, in the exercise of their powers, are carried out in a coordinated manner. These criteria have been agreed between the FEGA (Spanish Agrarian Guarantee Fund) and the different autonomous communities.
