The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development has culminated in the center of Cáritas Málaga the campaign to promote lamb meat “through which the Board has supported the consumption of this product with the distribution in Andalusia of 10,000 servings”, as reported by the managing director of the Andalusian Agency for Agricultural and Fisheries Management (Agapa), Raúl Jiménez.
In Malaga, 500 kilos of meat have been delivered “with the entity now managing the distribution of this food to the most disadvantaged families.”
Meat production is the main activity of the Andalusian sheep sector, with more than two million heads and 14,000 farms. In the province of Malaga, with 1,210 farms, some of them mixed, shared with goat production, the sheep census amounts to 137,455 breeders, resulting in an annual production of 165,146 lambs.
