The youngest, families with children under 12 years of age and those with higher family incomes, the most likely to consume vegan products, according to a study in the United States.

This is a study by the US Livestock and Beef Research and Promotion Board dealing with the competitive threats of these meat substitutes. In a survey of more than 3,000 US residents in September 2020, the main conclusions stand out:

1.- Respondents emphasize that the taste, appearance, price and naturalness of beef greatly exceed those of proteins of vegetable origin.

2.- Proteins of plant origin obtain the highest scores in animal welfare, health and environmental concerns.

3.- Providing consumers with detailed information on ingredients or nutritional value does not significantly affect the choice between beef burger and plant-based meals.
