They can be requested from Monday, February 15. Extraordinary aid for SMEs, microenterprises, cooperatives and self-employed workers with ERTE in Catalonia

The Generalitat de Catalunya has published the bases of the aid lines for the self-employed, companies with workers in ERTE and those affected by ERTE who receive the lowest salaries. Aid can be requested until February 22. This is the quarterly direct aid plan of 618 million euros, which will be distributed as follows:

Line of 208 million euros aimed at micro, small companies and cooperatives with workers in ERTE situations, managed by the Ministry of Business and Knowledge of the Generalitat, with which they intend to benefit 104,000 workers. This line, which can benefit the meat sector most affected by the closure of the hotel industry, can be requested electronically from Monday, February 15.

-Two direct and extraordinary grants managed by the Department of Labor, Social Affairs and Families for a value of 385 million euros, aimed at low-income workers in ERTE situations and self-employed workers. In addition, the Government agreed to allocate 25 million euros to training programs for this group.

Therefore, the 618 million are summarized in the previous points.

Companies will have to have workers in ERTE active as of January 31, 2021 and commit to maintaining the workforce as of December 31, 2021 with respect to the same month of the previous year. In the event of non-compliance, the subsidy will be revoked and the companies will have to return the aid received, as well as the corresponding default interest.

The Generalitat expects this aid to reach 175,000 people, who will receive an average of 600 euros. This benefit will be compatible with others of the Generalitat.

The self-employed will be able to request from February 19 at 9 a.m. to February 26 at 3 p.m. an aid that will consist, as before, of a direct benefit of 2,000 euros. This line is endowed with 280 million euros.

It can be requested electronically in this  link.
